Manual Translation Guide

WPMMCC ATS provides a self-contained, enterprise-grade manual translation workflow entirely inside wp-admin. No companion client, external cloud services, or paid subscriptions are required.

Completely Standalone: You can translate your entire website manually without installing the WPTSALL Client or generating any API keys.

1. Opening the Manual Translation Hub

In your WordPress admin dashboard, navigate to WPTSALL → Manual Translation. The hub shows all translatable items across your configured site relations:

  • Filter by Post Type: Filter between Posts, Pages, WooCommerce Products, or Custom Post Types.
  • Filter by Relation: Switch between target language virtual sites (e.g. en_US → zh_CN).
  • Translation Status: Visual status badges: Untranslated (gray), Draft (amber), or Published (green).

2. Using the Two-Panel Translation Editor

Click Translate on any item to open the side-by-side editing interface:

  • Left Panel (Source Content): Shows the original content in read-only mode for reference. Field labels indicate the content model (e.g. post_title, post_content, ACF field keys).
  • Right Panel (Target Language Input): Live input fields for your translations. Formatted rich-text inputs are provided for HTML and Gutenberg block content.
  • Field-Level Action Awareness: Fields marked as Sync or ID-Map in the model scanner are handled automatically in the background, so translators only focus on translatable text.

3. Translation Memory (TM) Suggestions

As you translate content, WPMMCC ATS records every approved source/target text pair into a local Translation Memory table within your WordPress database.

  • Fuzzy Match Detection: When the editor encounters a sentence identical or similar to previously translated segments, a suggestion card appears below the input.
  • Confidence Score: Displays match confidence (e.g. 100% Exact Match or 92% Fuzzy Match).
  • One-Click Apply: Click Apply to instantly populate the target field, maintaining brand consistency across hundreds of pages.

4. Translating Taxonomy Terms

To translate categories, tags, or custom taxonomies (such as WooCommerce product categories or custom attributes):

  1. Go to WPTSALL → Taxonomies.
  2. Select the taxonomy you wish to manage (e.g. Categories).
  3. The interface displays a table of source terms alongside target language input fields for the term name, slug, and description.
  4. Save your translations. When posts with those categories are viewed on the virtual target site (e.g. /zh_cn/category/...), the translated term labels are served seamlessly.

5. Theme & Plugin UI Strings (Gettext)

Static interface strings embedded in your theme and third-party plugins (such as "Add to Cart", "Search results for", "Read more") are handled through the Gettext string translation panel:

  • Navigate to WPTSALL → Strings.
  • Search or filter by text domain (e.g. woocommerce, your-theme).
  • Input translations for target languages. These translations take precedence on virtual sites via WordPress's native gettext filter hook.

6. Progress Dashboard

The Translation Dashboard (accessible via WPTSALL → Dashboard) gives administrators a high-level visual progress overview:

  • Completion percentage broken down by content layer (Posts, Pages, Products, Taxonomies, Strings).
  • Quick links to pending and outdated translations.
  • Option to bulk mark items for translation.
